Shri Chamunda Devi Temple, also called Chamunda Nandikeshwar Dham, is an old and respected temple. It is 24 km away from Dharamshala in Dev Bhumi Himachal Pradesh, Bharat. In the 16th century, there was a king and a priest who wished to relocate the idol of Shri Chamunda Devi from a remote mountain location to a more accessible place. According to the legend, Shri Chamunda Devi then appeared in the priest's dream and revealed the exact spot where they could find the ancient idol. Following the goddess's guidance, the king's men retrieved the idol and constructed the temple at its current location.

The Shri Chamunda Devi Temple is located on the banks of the Baner River, just 24 km away from Dharamshala. It is one of the 51 shakti peethas and is dedicated to Chamundeshwari Devi, who is one of the seven matrikas. Shri Chamunda Devi appeared from Goddess Durga's eyebrow to defeat the demons Chanda and Munda, who were the generals of the demon kings Shumbha and Nishumbha.

In addition to its religious importance, the temple complex also has an ayurvedic dispensary, a library, and a Sanskrit college. Furthermore, within the temple complex, there is a guest house available for pilgrims who travel from far and wide to receive the blessings of Shri Chamunda Devi. The temple's opening hours vary with the seasons. During summers, it is accessible from 5 am to 12 pm and from 1 pm to 10 pm, while in winters, the timings are from 6 am to 12 pm and from 1 pm to 9 pm.
